The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Istanbul Rumeli University's Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture organized a workshop on "Pasteis De Nata Dessert," a delicious treat unique to Portugal.
Pasteis de Nata is known to have originated before the 18th century by the monks at the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon. This monastery is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. During the workshop, students of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts had the opportunity to learn about the origins, preparation process, and key points of this dessert.
Students had the chance to practice the recipe step by step, learning about ingredient selection, preparation techniques, and baking methods in detail throughout the workshop.
This event not only provided students with hands-on experience in making a delicious dessert but also offered insights into the rich heritage of Portuguese cuisine. It allowed students to enhance their culinary skills while embarking on a cultural journey.
