History
The Turkish Teaching Research and Application Center (TÖMER) Regulation of Istanbul Rumeli University came into force on June 6, 2021, with its publication in the Official Gazette No. 31503. Our Center, which operates in the Anatolian Central Campus building, continues to provide only Turkish language courses.
Istanbul Rumeli University TÖMER serves as the gateway to both the Republic of Turkey and Istanbul Rumeli University for the world. Our students come from nearly 50 different countries, primarily from Turkish-speaking and related communities in Central Asia, the Balkans, and other regions. By teaching Turkish, one of the world’s oldest and most rooted written languages, our center aims to nurture individuals who can lead society in the changing global conditions with a research-driven, inquisitive, and analytical mindset, while respecting human values. We are committed to contributing to the lifelong education and development process of societies by accessing knowledge, producing it, sharing it, and putting it into practice.
Vision
The vision of TÖMER, which teaches Turkish as a foreign language and helps international students improve their ability to express themselves in different languages, is to become a leading, respected language teaching center at both national and international levels with original research in science and technology, high-level education, creative activities, and services.
