Board of Directors

Article 15:

a. Establishment and Functioning: The university board of directors consists of three professors who are elected by the senate for a period of four years, representing various academic units and fields within the university, with the rector as the chairman. The rector may convene the board of directors when necessary. The vice rectors may attend the board of directors meetings without voting rights.

b. Duties: The university board of directors serves as an administrative body to assist the rector and performs the following tasks:

• Assisting the rector in the implementation of decisions by higher education authorities and the senate, in line with the defined plans and programs.
• Ensuring the implementation of activity plans and programs; reviewing the investment program and draft budget proposal, taking into account the recommendations of the affiliated units, and submitting them to the rectorate or, in the case of foundation universities, to the board of trustees, along with their own suggestions.
• Making decisions on matters brought by the rector related to university administration.
• Examining and making final decisions on appeals against decisions of faculty, institute, and vocational school boards.
• Fulfilling other duties assigned by this law.
