Istanbul Rumeli University is a foundation university established in Istanbul on April 23, 2015. Istanbul Rumeli University aims to produce scientists that society needs, educate knowledgeable, modern, competent, experienced, socially beneficial, and research-oriented young individuals. It also strives to become a center of excellence.
Our university aims to create a higher education environment that will elevate the country above the level of contemporary civilization. By focusing on an interdisciplinary understanding and holistic approach, particularly in the fields of health and life sciences, we aim to make positive differences in Turkey's quality of life.
To achieve this goal, our university collaborates with the private sector, government institutions, and non-governmental organizations with its expert and experienced academic staff. It provides education at a universal level in all disciplines, especially in medical sciences.

On behalf of myself and my institution, I greet you all with love. First and foremost, I would like to explain the expression "Rumeli" in the name of our university. Rumeli does not represent a nationality or a geography, but rather signifies a sense of cultural belonging. Rumeli is a cultural environment nourished and rooted in the teachings of Mevlana, extending from Anatolia to the Balkans, and crowned with the independence torch lit by Atatürk's arrival from the Balkans to Anatolia.
Rumeli is a cultural bridge between the East and the West, a loving environment that brings societies together.
Our institution considers it a duty to educate individuals who embrace contemporary and universal thinking, uphold national and spiritual values, break free from any dogma, stereotypes, and memorization, and are capable of recognizing differences and details, generating independent ideas and thoughts, and engaging in critical thinking.
In addition to life-oriented education, our institution offers a colorful educational process through numerous social activities. This process will contribute to your personal development and strengthen your communication skills. Furthermore, we aim to create an intellectual environment where science and art can be discussed from various perspectives, emphasizing the development of your ability to comprehend and utilize knowledge rather than just accumulating it.
As of the 2022-2023 academic year, our university offers education in 21 departments across 5 faculties located in Silivri, Haliç, and Bostancı campuses, 17 programs affiliated with the Vocational School of Health Services, and 10 programs affiliated with the Vocational School. Additionally, there are 23 programs under the Graduate School of Education. Graduating from Istanbul Rumeli University, which provides the best education to its students, is a privilege. Our graduates start their lives one step ahead compared to their peers due to their qualifications and skills.
In previous years, we have proudly witnessed examples of this. Despite being a new university, our students have achieved top rankings in regional exams (KPSS) and managed to be among the graduates of the top fifty universities in Turkey based on their scores. Similarly, many of our students have achieved numerous successes and brought first-place awards to our university in various fields even before graduating.
Our central campus, Mehmet Balcı Campus, which covers an area of 40,000 square meters, is located in Silivri, serving as the heart of our university. Situated away from the noise of the city and surrounded by nature, our central campus offers a tranquil environment that enhances the educational motivation of our students. In addition to its central location, our campus provides opportunities for enjoyable social lives with its proximity to the sea and natural beauty. It carries the characteristics of a living city.
Our institution offers facilities that will allow our esteemed students to spend pleasant time in their social lives. These include a football and volleyball field with a capacity of 3,000 spectators dedicated to our students, an indoor soccer field, three outdoor basketball courts, three outdoor tennis courts, a cafeteria, and table tennis facilities. The sports center not only provides our students with the opportunity to make the most of their free time during the day but also supports their athletic activities. From the cafeteria areas to the fitness center, from the hobby section to the green relaxation areas, there are various social spaces where you can enjoy your time.
Furthermore, considering that Istanbul is located in a high-risk earthquake zone, it is important to emphasize that our central campus in Silivri has been determined to be highly reliable in terms of both ground and structural features through measurements and assessments.
