Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Application and Research Center

Istanbul Rumeli University Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Application and Research Center (İRUFİZMER) is an institution established at Istanbul Rumeli University with the aim of improving the quality of life in the community, preserving and enhancing the health of individuals engaged in exercise and sports, and conducting studies in the fields of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, research, education, and services. Patients, healthy individuals, students, and researchers can apply directly to İRUFİZMER through the Istanbul Rumeli University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and under the guidance of affiliated public and private sector institutions.

Physical therapy assessments and treatments, as well as recommendations for healthy living, physical activity, and exercise, are carried out at our center under the supervision of faculty members and staff who are physicians and physiotherapists working in our Faculty of Health Sciences and Health Services Vocational School. Additionally, various courses, seminars, symposiums, panels, and congresses are held at the center to educate clinicians, academics, patients, healthy individuals, and students. The center aims to train competent academics by planning research projects for Development Agency, TUBITAK, and European Union.

 

Objectives of the Center

• Conducting research on current issues in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation that negatively affect public health and decrease the quality of life.

• Contributing to the education and practical training of students in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Health Services Vocational School.

• Providing healthcare services to university students, staff, staff relatives, and the local community, offering outpatient and inpatient diagnostic and treatment services. To achieve this, if necessary, employing personnel through Istanbul Rumeli University Economic Enterprise with the approval of the Rectorate or purchasing services.

• Contributing to science through research by competent academics in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation by planning research projects for TUBITAK and the European Union.

• Collaborating with national and international official and private institutions and organizations in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and producing joint projects.

• Organizing conferences, symposiums, seminars, panels, and similar meetings in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and ensuring active participation of faculty members and students from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Health Services Vocational School in these events.

• Engaging in publication activities to inform and educate the public about research and practices conducted at the center.

• Conducting and commissioning R&D studies in line with the objectives of the research center, if necessary, leasing suitable offices, workplaces, laboratories, buildings, vehicles, and similar items.

• Establishing centers that provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation services to university staff, students, or the local community, and if necessary, operating or outsourcing these centers in connection with Istanbul Rumeli University Economic Enterprise.

• Collaborating with public institutions and organizations, private sector, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations within the framework of relevant legislation to achieve the objectives of the center.
