Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences

The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences was established in the 2017–2018 academic year under the name Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and began its educational activities with the Departments of Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Interior Architecture. Starting from the 2021–2022 academic year, with the transfer of the Architecture and Interior Architecture Departments to the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, the faculty continued its education under the name Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences with the Departments of Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Civil Engineering at both the Mehmet Balcı Campus and the Haliç Application and Research Campus.

From the 2023–2024 academic year onwards, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences continued its educational activities with all departments at the Haliç Application and Research Campus until the end of the 2025–2026 Fall Semester. In accordance with the decision of the University Senate dated 28.01.2026 and numbered 2026/03-01, starting from the 2025–2026 Spring Semester, the Departments of Civil Engineering and Industrial Engineering have continued their education at the Silivri Campus, while the Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering have continued their educational activities at the Digital Campus Rudic.

Undergraduate education at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences is conducted over four years and combines theoretical knowledge with practical experimental applications in basic sciences and professional research and development laboratories. Within this framework, the curricula of the undergraduate programs are structured with common courses in the first and second semesters that focus on fundamental knowledge. In accordance with the Bologna Process, both professional field courses and interdisciplinary courses are offered. Modern technological facilities are utilized in both theoretical and practical courses. Ensuring high-quality and efficient engineering education is a primary objective, and in this context all undergraduate programs of the faculty are currently undergoing the accreditation process of MÜDEK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs).
