Vertical transfer is done from a two-year associate program to a bachelor's program. The guide prepared by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) includes information each year about which associate degree graduates from vocational high schools and open education programs can apply for vertical transfer to which bachelor's programs, the conditions of these programs, and the number of students to be admitted to these programs.
Applicants will undergo an aptitude test consisting of verbal and quantitative sections. A score will be calculated for placement based on the scores obtained in the aptitude test, the YKS scores that are the basis for admission to the vocational high school or open education associate program, and the Weighted Associate Degree Success Score of the vocational high school or open education associate program.
ÖSYM places candidates who meet the application conditions into bachelor's programs, considering their preferences, placement scores, and the quotas and conditions of the bachelor's program scores. The exam and placement procedures for vertical transfer from vocational high schools and open education associate programs to regular bachelor's programs are conducted by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Candidates applying for the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) must have graduated from vocational high schools or open education associate programs. Candidates who are in their final year and have met graduation requirements other than internships can also apply. Final-year students and graduates of vocational high schools in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, as well as candidates who have graduated from abroad and whose equivalency is accepted, can also apply for DGS under the same conditions. Students who have received or will receive an associate degree from programs lasting four years or longer, including open education, cannot apply for DGS.
