Department Of Library and Documentation

Library and Documentation Department

The Library and Documentation Department of Istanbul Rumeli University acquires all kinds of information resources through purchasing, donations, and subscriptions to support educational activities and scientific research. The bibliographic records of all materials available in the library have been transferred to an electronic environment using the Yordam Library Information-Documentation Automation Program and are made available to our users via the internet.

Through the "Research" tab on the Istanbul Rumeli University Library website, users can easily search for materials available in the library using the Piri Discovery Tool, access thousands of resources online via subscribed databases, and enrich their work through open access resources.

In line with this goal, the responsibilities of the Library and Documentation Department are as follows:

  • Prioritizing the requests of academic staff, students, and administrative personnel in collection development activities.
  • Providing the best information services by offering a rich collection of printed materials supported by electronic resources such as databases, e-journals, and e-books, as well as non-book materials and newly added intellectual games, stepping beyond the traditional library concept.
  • Cataloging the publications in the collection according to Anglo-American Cataloging Rules and arranging them on the shelves using the Library of Congress (LC) classification system in an open shelf arrangement.
