Department of Turkish Language

Our goals include providing our students with the necessary knowledge about language and culture; explaining the position and importance of our language among the world’s languages; equipping them with the essential skills for written and verbal communication; and ensuring they gain the knowledge and experience needed for professional communication, such as writing petitions, reports, and scientific papers. We aim to educate individuals who can identify and address issues in the field, are conscious of accurately transmitting our language to future generations, contribute to their country and humanity, follow scientific developments, and value creativity, entrepreneurship, critical thinking, and ethical principles.

Our mission is to train qualified young people who will understand the Turkish language within its historical development from its origins to the present, contribute to its advancement, protect it from the influence of foreign languages, and carry this linguistic awareness into the future.

The art of rhetoric—which encompasses the rules necessary to express ideas in the most effective way according to purpose—has become an essential skill for young professionals in every field. Therefore, one of our fundamental objectives is to teach our students the best ways to express their emotions, thoughts, and knowledge verbally, while also helping them develop strong written communication skills.

We also aim to encourage our students to engage in research and spark their interest in ongoing developments. Supporting students who can generate new ideas and projects for the advancement of the Turkish language, and conducting studies that highlight Turkish as one of the oldest and richest languages in the world, are among our primary goals in promoting our language on the international stage.
