The Department of Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering Services organized a seminar titled "Catering Food Sector and Employment."

Istanbul Rumeli University, Vocational School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering Services organized a seminar titled "Catering Food Sector and Employment" at the Akın Akkan Conference Hall in the Mehmet Balcı Campus. The seminar featured Tuncay BAYCAN, the Deputy General Manager of FA Group and Honorary President of the Istanbul Gastronomy and Chefs Association, as a guest speaker.

The seminar covered various topics in detail, including the establishment of ready meal factories, kitchen equipment, hygiene and sanitation standards, meal production techniques, the use of equipment, and employment conditions and opportunities in catering services. Emphasis was placed on the physical structuring of the factory, the selection and placement of equipment, and the necessity for businesses to comply with hygiene and sanitation standards. It was also highlighted that the use of modern kitchen equipment increases efficiency and maintains hygiene standards. Meal production techniques and the equipment used were examined in detail, emphasizing the role of technology in making the meal production process more efficient and of higher quality.

The seminar also addressed the employment conditions and opportunities in businesses providing catering services. Strategies to enhance the rights of employees, job security, and strategies to increase customer satisfaction in the catering sector were discussed in detail.
