On March 15, 2024, as part of the International Women's Day celebrations, the Women's Rights Action Plan Commission organized a seminar titled "Empowered Women, Entrepreneurial Women" at the Cep Sineması in Istanbul Rumeli University's Haliç Application and Research Campus. The program commenced with an opening speech by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe YİĞİT ŞAKAR. Following this, there were speeches by the Commission Chair, Instructor Elif TÜREL, and Commission Member Hülkiye AKOL, along with a presentation on the history of hair care.
During Hülkiye AKOL's presentation, information was provided on how women historically cared for their hair and shaped it by applying oils. Subsequently, Aslı GÜMÜŞEL ŞEN, the founder of a cosmetics company, spoke about the importance of being a woman in the world and her journey as an entrepreneur. ŞEN shared insights into the process of establishing her company and her experiences in entrepreneurship.
The information shared during the program provided valuable insights into women's empowerment and entrepreneurship. The seminar concluded with Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe YİĞİT ŞAKAR presenting a plaque and flowers to Aslı GÜMÜŞEL ŞEN.
