A panel on Women Entrepreneurship in Turkey was held

İstanbul Rumeli University organized a panel titled "Women Entrepreneurship in Turkey" at the Akın Akkan Conference Hall located in the Mehmet Balcı Campus to emphasize the importance of women entrepreneurship and increase awareness in this field. The panel featured speakers including Assoc. Prof. Nilüfer SERİNİKLİ from Trakya University, N. Hilal BALCI, the Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Rumeli University, AK Party Sakarya Deputy and the Chairwoman of the TBMM Committee on Gender Equality, Çiğdem ERDOĞAN. The panel began with an opening speech by Vice Rector Prof. Mustafa KARA, followed by a speech by Silivri Mayor Bora BALCIOĞLU regarding the significance of the day.

In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Nilüfer SERİNİKLİ emphasized the vital importance of women entrepreneurship for sustainable development and social welfare. She pointed out various challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, such as lack of financing, education and experience inadequacies, and social and cultural barriers. SERİNİKLİ underscored the need to support, educate, and encourage women entrepreneurs to overcome these challenges, highlighting the role of cooperatives in empowering women economically. She mentioned successful women cooperatives in Turkey and their contributions to the local economy and women's economic independence.

N. Hilal BALCI, the Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Rumeli University, delivered a speech focusing on women entrepreneurship in Turkey and the role of women in the business world. She highlighted the importance of supporting women in entrepreneurship and emphasized the need for equal opportunities for women in all areas of life. BALCI shared her experiences in various sectors and emphasized the importance of family support for women entrepreneurs. She discussed the increasing presence of women in leadership positions in academia and industry and emphasized the need to strengthen support for women entrepreneurs.

AK Party Sakarya Deputy and the Chairwoman of the TBMM Committee on Gender Equality, Çiğdem ERDOĞAN, discussed the efforts of the committee to promote gender equality in society. She emphasized the importance of supporting women in entrepreneurship and highlighted the different types of support provided by the government and local authorities. ERDOĞAN stressed the role of women's economic empowerment in addressing issues such as violence and underscored the need for continued support for women in entrepreneurship and employment.
