The Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at Istanbul Rumeli University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture, had an unforgettable experience at the 20th Akbank Short Film Festival. They encountered cinematic works from different cultures by watching short films from Kosovo, the United States, and Portugal in the "Shorts from the World" section.
As part of the "Experiences" section, they participated in the screening of "Koza," the first Turkish short film selected for competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 1995, directed by the prominent Turkish filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
Moreover, the post-screening discussion provided students with the opportunity to engage directly with director Nuri Bilge Ceylan and learn from his experiences. Moderated by festival director and filmmaker Selim Evci, this discussion offered students a glimpse into the world of cinema from an insider's perspective.
