A seminar titled "Women in Historical Perspective" was held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Istanbul Rumeli University Mehmet Balcı Campus, organized by the Women's Rights Action Plan Commission.
Following the opening speech by Associate Professor Ömer ÇETİN, Vice Rector of Istanbul Rumeli University, the seminar continued with a speech by Elif TÜREL, the Chairperson of the Women's Rights Action Commission at our university.
Hulkiye AKOL, from the Department of Foreign Languages attached to our Rectorate, participated as a speaker in the seminar, where experiences of women throughout history were examined and a deep analysis was presented to understand how women's position in society has evolved. The approach of different civilizations and cultures towards women from ancient times to the modern world was studied, providing insights into the social, economic, and political roles of women.
At the end of the event, Dr. Sinem YÜKSEL ÇENDEK, Assistant Professor, presented a plaque to our speaker Hulkiye AKOL for the valuable information shared with us.
