Entrepreneurship Week (March 1-7)

Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated every year during the first week of March with the aim of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among young people. When we examine the literature, the concept of entrepreneurship is defined as the transformation of economic opportunities by bringing together economic goods, property, services, and production into new values. Being an entrepreneur is about adapting to economic life, making good use of economic opportunities, and having a vision. The importance of entrepreneurship in the economic growth of a country is significant. Countries with high and developed economies are not those with abundant underground minerals, but those with many entrepreneurs above ground. This is because an entrepreneur is a person who contributes greatly to the economy by producing goods and services in different business sectors. As Istanbul Rumeli University, we continue our efforts to train and develop qualified and equipped individuals in line with Turkey's goals for 2023, 2053, and 2071. We provide Entrepreneurship courses at our university to enable our students to participate in entrepreneurship training programs provided by KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization) and obtain an Entrepreneurship Certificate. We aim for our students to establish their own businesses after graduation, rather than seeking employment. The KOSGEB Entrepreneurship Certificate offers various advantages and opportunities to our students:

1. Access to government support,
2. Participation in advanced training programs,
3. Collaboration and networking opportunities,
4. Corporate reputation.

In this way, we aim for both our country's and our university's entrepreneurship ecosystem to reach higher levels. We strive to guide our students towards entrepreneurship through programs organized in this direction. It should be remembered that the most successful people in life are those with an entrepreneurial spirit and who are not afraid to take risks.
