As part of an event organized by the Department of Architecture at Istanbul Rumeli University, Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture, a trip was organized on the theme of "Architecture in Historical Context." This trip took students to Feshane Istanbul, an important venue where they could find inspiration for their architectural projects.
Coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Türkan UZUN, Assistant Prof. Hülya COŞKUN, and Research Assistant Serengül ŞARLI, the technical visit focused on examining the transformation of Feshane Istanbul into a cultural and artistic space following its restoration. Detailed analyses were conducted on the distinctive features of the venue, guiding students on designing cultural and artistic spaces within historical contexts.
Furthermore, students had the opportunity to experience the exhibition "The Dynamic Eye: Beyond Op and Kinetic Art," brought to Turkey by the Tate Museum, which offered dynamic visual experiences beyond optical and kinetic art, enriching their artistic perspectives.
At the end of the event, students had the chance to evaluate their projects in the resting area within the historical setting. In this atmosphere, they reviewed and discussed their projects immersed in the past. Additionally, they shared their experiences from the trip and engaged in knowledge exchange with each other.
