Istanbul Rumeli University Radiotherapy Program score type is TYT and the language of education is Turkish. At the end of 2 years education, our students graduate with an associate degree diploma and the title of Radiotherapy Technician.
Associate degree graduates with the title of Radiotherapy Technician can be employed in state hospitals with oncology departments, training and research hospitals, private hospitals, private clinics and oncology centers.
Our students who benefit from the Rumeli Education Method can benefit from additional certificate programs that facilitate minor and double major opportunities, and provide profit and preference in professional life. With Career English courses, they can follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and evaluate their job opportunities abroad.
During the education; in addition to theoretical knowledge, practice-based courses in Clinical Oncology, Radiotherapy Devices, Treatment Planning in Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Applications are given. In order for students to graduate, they must complete a 30-days summer internship in public and private health institutions.
The purpose of the program; to train qualified health personnel who can perform radiotherapy treatment of cancer patients with all processes, have the ability to use and maintain treatment and diagnostic devices (computerized tomography, ultrasound, nuclear imaging, radiodiagnostic, x-ray, etc.), contribute to scientific studies, and work as an assistant to oncology specialists.
Those who prefer the Radiotherapy Program and want to work as a Radiotherapy Technician in the sector should be interested in physics and biology and sensitive to patients. With the trainings given in addition to the curriculum at Istanbul Rumeli University, the hand-eye coordination skills of the person are developed, it is taught to understand and apply the oral and written instructions specific to radiotherapy, attention and empathy are gained, and a sense of responsibility is instilled.

 

The education language of the Radiotherapy Program is Turkish. English courses required by YÖK are given by distance education. Students whose English level is B1 according to CEFR can request Career English courses conducted under the İ.R.Ü. Continuing Education Center. Career English courses open the way for students to follow the knowledge of their field in international language and to search for job opportunities abroad.

Our students who successfully complete the Radiotherapy Program have the opportunity to continue their undergraduate education in one of the departments of "Nursing", "Nursing and Health Services" with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS). The curriculum of the program has been prepared considering the students who want to continue their education at the faculty and it is aimed that they will not lose a semester.

Our students who are placed in the Radiotherapy Program can transfer to the associate degree program of their choice according to the placement score type, with horizontal transfer between in-house and external programs after the first semester.


Horizontal transfer procedures can be applied in two ways with the criteria determined by the Higher Education Institution (YÖK);

•    Departments in accordance with the principles of horizontal transfer between in-house and external programs with a Weighted Grade Point Average (WGPA); all programs of the Dental Services Department, all programs of the Therapy and Rehabilitation Department, all programs of the Health Care Services Department, all programs of the Child Care and Youth Services Department.

•    In-house and external transfer in accordance with the principles of horizontal transfer with a central placement score.

Our Radiotherapy Program students have the right to receive a double major diploma from the associate degree program of their choice, without extending the semester, from the departments listed below, with priority being given to all programs of the "Department of Medical Services and Techniques" within the scope of the double major.

-All programs of the Dental Services Department
-All programs of the Therapy and Rehabilitation Department
-All programs of the Health Care Services Department
-All programs of the Child Care and Youth Services Department

With the double major opportunity, our students can improve themselves during their education and certify their qualifications with diplomas and certificates.

Istanbul Rumeli University Radiotherapy Program students are supported by a special certificate program given by the Continuing Education Center. The certificates to be issued follow the legislative updates. Students who successfully complete the certificate program transition to professional business life with the equipment needed in the international arena at the graduation stage.
