Emergency and Disaster Management aims to meet the need for trained personnel in the field of emergency and disaster management. It involves establishing all kinds of emergency operation centers, civil defense teams, fire departments, relevant public institutions and organizations, and especially personnel who can serve within the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). These personnel should possess knowledge of and be able to implement the basic methods employed in this field. Additionally, they should be capable of providing necessary training to the existing personnel within their assigned unit, as well as having the ability to lead and manage their assigned unit.
For those who choose to complete the Emergency and Medical Aid program and want to work as an Emergency and Medical Aid technician should:
· possess strong communication skills
· be open to technological advances and innovations
· be cooperative, attentive and responsible

· be interested and successful in the sciences
· be physically healthy
· be able to make decisions quickly
The language of instruction of the 2 year associate degree program in Emergency and Medical Aid is Turkish. However, in order for our students to gain a competitive edge in the field, we also provide an advanced level English language education.
Upon successful completion of the two year associate degree program in Emergency and Medical Aid, technicians can work in public or private health institutions, hospitals and clinics.
Furthermore, students who complete the program with success can transfer to undergraduate programs through the vertical transfer exam organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
