Istanbul Rumeli University Dialysis Program gives its students an associate degree diploma and the title of Dialysis Technician at the end of 2 years of education. Dialysis Program score type is TYT and the language of instruction is Turkish.
Associate degree graduates with the title of Dialysis Technician can work in state and university hospitals as well as in private hospitals.
Dialysis Program students can do a double major during their 2-year education, and they can also complete their undergraduate education by taking the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) after graduation and gain advantage in both profit and preference in their professional life.
In addition to the curriculum applied from the Rumeli Education Method, it includes additional certificate programs within the Continuing Education Center, which are prepared by industry representatives and instructors who are experts in their fields, facilitating minor and double major opportunities, and providing profit and preference in professional life.
In addition to national job opportunities, our students are given Career English courses after graduation, where they can follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and evaluate their job opportunities abroad.
The purpose of the program; It aims to train qualified health technicians who inform patients and their relatives about the treatment and provide maintenance of the dialysis machine, as well as taking the patient to the dialysis machine, following up, treating and terminating the procedures for the needs of kidney patients. Moreover; Provides care and control of peritoneal dialysis patients, catheter care, transfer set replacement, exchange of solutions, and patient education. Istanbul Rumeli University Dialysis Program students gain professional equipment within the scope of practice-oriented trainings they receive in practice laboratories and contracted hospitals.
Qualifications of the Profession: Dialysis Program, 2-year education students take clinical practice courses in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis units, in addition to basic medical sciences and professional theoretical courses. Practice-based training of our students is carried out in the laboratories of our university and in our contracted practice hospitals. In this way, the qualifications required by the profession are fulfilled and our students are trained as well-equipped health personnel. Our students receive practical training during the education period and during the summer months.
In this department, people who love their profession and people, are tolerant, careful and inquisitive, have a high sense of responsibility, are interested in mechanical tools, and follow developments in their profession, current publications and scientific publications can be successful.
The language of instruction of the Dialysis Associate Degree Department is Turkish. General English courses (compulsory by YÖK) are given by distance education. However, students whose General English level is B1 according to the CEFR, can attend İ.R.Ü. They can request Career English courses conducted under the Continuing Education Center. Career English courses open the way for students to follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and to search for opportunities abroad.
Dialysis Technician specializes in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Dialysis Technicians can work in hospitals and dialysis units affiliated with private and public institutions. Those who successfully complete the dialysis program can transfer vertically to four-year undergraduate programs in the fields of "Nursing" and "Nursing and Health Services" with the Vertical Transfer Exam opened by OSYM.
Our students who are placed in the Dialysis Program can transfer to the associate degree program of their choice according to the placement score type, with horizontal transfer between internal and external programs after the first semester.
Horizontal transfer procedures can be applied in two ways with the criteria determined by the Higher Education Institution;
• Departments in accordance with the principles of internal and inter-institutional transfers with a Weighted Grade Point Average (AGNO); Dental Services Division all programs, Therapy and Rehabilitation Division all programs, Medical Services Division all programs, Health Services Care Division all programs, Child Care and Youth Services Division all programs
• Inter-institutional and intra-institutional transfer in accordance with the principles of lateral transfer with a central placement score.
Dialysis Program students have the right to receive a double major diploma from the associate degree program they choose from the departments listed below, primarily all programs of the "Department of Medical Services" within the scope of the Double Major, without extending the semester.

It is supported by certificate programs given by the Education Center. The certificates to be issued follow the legislative updates. Students who successfully complete their certificate programs transition to professional business life with the equipment needed in the international arena at the graduation stage.
