Istanbul Rumeli University Medical Laboratory Techniques Program gives its students an associate degree diploma and the title of Medical Laboratory Technician at the end of 2 years of education. The score type of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program is TYT and the language of instruction is Turkish.
Associate degree graduates with the title of Medical Laboratory Technician can work in hospitals, private analysis laboratories, research centers of other health institutions, private clinics and laboratories, medical faculties, health institutes and food industry enterprises, as well as in the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance organizations.
Students of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program can do a double major during their 2-year education and complete their undergraduate education by taking the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) after graduation and gain advantage in both profit and preference in their professional life.
In addition to the applied curriculum, the Rumeli Education Method includes additional certificate programs within the Continuing Education Center, which are prepared by industry representatives and lecturers who are experts in their fields, facilitating minor and double major opportunities, and providing profit and preference in professional life.
In addition to national job opportunities, our students are given Career English courses after graduation, where they can follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and evaluate their job opportunities abroad.
The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program trains qualified health personnel who provide theoretical and practical training on the operation of devices used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics, and training of technical health personnel related to performing different analyzes in health institutions and who have received adequate training in technical issues. Medical Laboratory Techniques performs the necessary tests and analyzes in the laboratories within the institution, prepares the liquid or solid materials to be analyzed, produces the necessary reports or ensures that they are issued, and repairs the devices used in the laboratory.
Our students carry out their practical training in practice classes within our University and in contracted health institutions, the competencies required by the profession are fulfilled and they are trained as well-equipped health personnel. They receive their practical training during the training periods and during the summer months.
With the application / laboratory infrastructure of the Medical Laboratory Techniques department of our university, our students graduate with the professional knowledge and experience they will need in their professional lives.

The language of instruction of the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques is Turkish. General English courses (compulsory by YÖK) are given by distance education. However, students whose General English level is B1 according to the CEFR, can attend İ.R.Ü. They can request Career English courses conducted under the Continuing Education Center. Career English courses open the way for students to follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and to search for job opportunities abroad.

After the first semester, students who are placed in the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program can transfer to the associate degree program of their choice, depending on the placement score type, by horizontal transfer between in-house and external programs.
Our Medical Laboratory Techniques Program students have the right to receive a double major diploma from the associate degree program they choose from the departments listed below, with priority in all programs of the "Department of Medical Services and Techniques" within the scope of double major, without extending the semester.

The curriculum of the program has been prepared considering the students who want to continue their education at the faculty and it is aimed that they will not experience a semester loss.
Istanbul Rumeli University Medical Laboratory Techniques Program students are supported by the certificate programs given by the Continuing Education Center throughout the education period. The certificates to be issued follow the legislative updates.
