Istanbul Rumeli University Dental Prosthesis Technology Program gives its students an associate degree diploma and the title of Dental Prosthesis Technician at the end of 2 years of education. Dental Prosthesis Technology Program score type is TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) and the language of instruction is Turkish.
Associate degree graduates with the title of Dental Prosthesis Technician can be employed in Oral and Dental Health Centers, state hospitals, university hospitals, private hospitals, and dental prosthesis laboratories.
Students of the Dental Prosthesis Technology Program can do a double major during their 2-year education, and they can also complete their undergraduate education by taking the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) after graduation and gain advantages in both profit and preference in their professional life.
Rumelian Education Method; In addition to the applied curriculum, it includes additional certificate programs within the body of the Continuing Education Center, which are prepared by industry representatives and lecturers who are experts in their fields, facilitating minor and double major opportunities, and providing profit and preference in professional life.
In addition to national job opportunities, our students are given Career English courses after graduation, where they can follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and evaluate their job opportunities abroad.
The Dental Prosthesis Technology Program trains health technicians who ensure that the laboratory studies of the prosthetic treatment planned by the dentist are carried out with up-to-date technologies and the best materials. Dental Prosthesis Technicians usually work under the responsibility of the dentist. Its main tasks are; making the prepared dental prosthesis ready for use, repairing the prosthesis that is broken or cracked in any way, and cleaning the devices and tools used.
Practice-based training of our Dental Prosthesis Technology Program students is carried out in dental prosthesis laboratories, practice classes and contracted practice hospital in our university campus. In this way, the qualifications required by the profession are fulfilled and our students are trained as well-equipped health personnel. Our students receive practical training during the education period and during the summer months.
In this section, a person who uses Turkish well, is interested in basic sciences, has the power to see shape and space relations and transfers them to the material in his hand, has dexterity of hands and fingers and does not prevent him from working with these organs, has a developed aesthetic understanding and vision, is not allergic to the substances used, honest, Healthy and responsible people will be more successful.
Students who successfully complete the Dental Prosthesis Technology Program receive the title of Dental Prosthesis Technician. They can work in prosthetic laboratories of public or private health institutions.
The language of instruction of the Associate Degree of Dental Prosthesis Technology is Turkish. General English courses required by YÖK are given by distance education. However, for students whose General English level is B1 according to CEFR, Career English courses conducted under the İ.R.Ü Continuing Education Center open the way for students to follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and to search for job opportunities abroad.
Students who successfully complete the Istanbul Rumeli University Dental Prosthesis Technologies program have the opportunity to continue their undergraduate education in one of the Health Administration and Health Management departments with the Vertical Transfer Exam. The curriculum of the program has been prepared considering the students who want to continue their education at the faculty and it is aimed that they will not lose a semester.
Horizontal transfer procedures can be applied in two ways with the criteria determined by the Higher Education Institution;
• Departments in accordance with the principles of internal and inter-institutional transfers with a Weighted Grade Point Average (AGNO); Dental Services Division all programs, Therapy and Rehabilitation Division all programs, Medical Services Division all programs, Health Services Care Division all programs, Child Care and Youth Services Division all programs.
• Inter-institutional and intra-institutional transfer in accordance with the principles of lateral transfer with a central placement score.
Our students who are placed in the Dental Prosthesis Technology Program can transfer to the associate degree program of their choice according to the placement score type by horizontal transfer between in-house and external programs after the first semester.
Our Dental Prosthesis Technology Program students have the right to receive a double major diploma from the associate degree health program they choose from the departments listed below, primarily all the programs of the "Department of Dentistry Services" within the scope of the double major, without extending the semester.
