The “TÜYAP Construction Fair Visit,” organized by the Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture at Istanbul Rumeli University, was held at the Istanbul TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center.
Within the scope of the technical trip coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gül Yücel and conducted by Research Assistants Emine Şeyma Erkan and Ela Çelik, students had the opportunity to examine current construction technologies and innovative design products on-site, gaining valuable sectoral insight. During the program, where students met with leading companies in the industry, they received technical information on material properties and sustainability criteria. At the GOOPLAST stand, an extensive discussion on production processes was held with Tahir Gönenç, Vice President of KONSİAD.
The event focused on the sustainable design of spaces in line with technological developments and ecological sensitivities. Students had the opportunity to listen to experts discussing all stages of construction practices, from material selection to implementation. Topics such as the legal processes of design and professional collaboration were also addressed during the fair visit, which concluded successfully with an interactive question-and-answer session analyzing digitalization processes and achieving the targeted academic outcomes.
