Istanbul Rumeli University Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences gives its students the title of “Exercise and Sports Instructor/Leader” with a bachelor's degree at the end of 4 years of education.
Undergraduate graduates who have the title of Exercise and Sports Instructor/Leader can work in Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports, education department, federations, etc. in all units affiliated to the General Directorate of Sports Services. They can work in autonomous federations as Exercise and Sports specialists, in the field of health, in business sectors in the industry, and in local governments. In addition, they are employed as instructors in the Physical Education and Sports Schools and Sports Sciences Faculties of the universities. Graduates can pursue an academic career by taking postgraduate education. Provided that the pedagogical formation is completed, graduate students also have the opportunity to become a physical education teacher.

The Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences mainly studies the acute and long-term effects of physical activity on the human body. In other words; exercise and sports sciences focus on how the healthy human body reacts during and after exercise. He also conducts studies on how physical activity supports health and sports performance from the cellular dimension to the whole body. Students studying in this department gain knowledge in many fields such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, movement and training sciences, athlete health, sports management and organization, scientific research in sports. The aim of our department is to contribute to public health, to be competent to train national and international athletes of the future, to aim to increase the quality of life of people, to be aware of the physiological, psychological and sociological dimensions of sports and to have the ability to conduct scientific research in the field, to follow scientific and technological developments in their field. to produce graduates who can apply. The education period is 4 years and the language of education is Turkish. In order to study in the Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences, it is necessary to get at least 150 points from TYT and to be successful in the Special Talent Exam. Graduates of Exercise and Sports Sciences program; At the end of the first year, students of the Exercise and Sports Sciences department can transfer to other departments that accept students with the Special Talent Exam. If the students of the Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences achieve sufficient success, they can do a double major-minor program with the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Dietetics and Psychology departments in our other faculties as well as other departments in our faculty. Students of Istanbul Rumeli University Faculty of Sports Sciences, Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences are supported by certificate programs given by the Continuing Education Center throughout the education period. The certificates to be issued follow the legislation program updates.
