Licensed Nursing is a profession that must be earned with a 4-year education. The profession is carried out by both male and female students. The service area of the profession is human and it is a health discipline that presents its applications by basing it on science and making use of art.

Istanbul Rumeli University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing will start accepting students in the Fall Semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year. Our aim in nursing education is to raise graduates who are contemporary, have a sense of responsibility towards their country and profession, can offer the science and art of nursing to meet the health needs of the individual, family and society, have ethical values and leadership qualities, and are preferred nationally and internationally. It is important for the candidates to establish a strong association in order to provide high quality and reliable service for the benefit of the society and to be an autonomous health profession. For this reason, membership of the Turkish Nurses Association of professional candidates is considered important.

In line with the European Union, our curriculum is designed to develop critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Our students who choose the Department of Nursing at Istanbul Rumeli University Faculty of Health Sciences and graduate from our undergraduate program will have the opportunity to work in many areas of the health sector: hospitals, educational institutions, occupational health, school health, rehabilitation centers, pharmaceutical industry. In addition, they will have the opportunity to learn together with students from different cultures of our University, which is located in a big city like Istanbul, which is preferred by national/international students.
 

The language of instruction for the Nursing undergraduate program is Turkish. "Career English Lessons" aim to provide students with specialized English knowledge in their field so that they can pursue international careers while continuing their education in their native language. These lessons involve reading and comprehending English texts that cover the topics learned in their field courses. The texts selected for each department have been recommended by the department instructors. The commonly used English words and terminology specific to each field are taught based on the content of the reading material. If there are any language-related issues that may hinder the understanding of the content, they are addressed. Therefore, students who take this course are required to have a minimum of CEFR B1 level in General English proficiency. The goal is for students who continue with these lessons each year to be able to read and comprehend English books and articles related to their field comfortably.

Students in the Nursing Department of the School of Health Sciences have the opportunity to obtain two different undergraduate diplomas in their desired fields, such as "Nutrition and Dietetics" and "Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation," through the double major program without extending their study period.

Students enrolled in the Nursing undergraduate program can simultaneously and successfully complete some courses from a different department at our university and enhance their knowledge in a different field through minor programs, earning a certificate.

The aim is for nursing students to graduate as healthcare professionals who are aware of their duties and responsibilities, adhere to ethical principles, and have the primary goal of protecting and improving the health of individuals, families, and society, with a spirit of inquiry. After graduation, our nursing students can take on roles in various institutions and organizations such as private and public hospitals, Family Health Centers, schools, workplaces, and Emergency Health Services. Students who wish to pursue an academic career can continue their professional development by meeting the requirements of relevant education and training programs.

Students in the Nursing Department of Istanbul Rumeli University are supported throughout their education with certificate programs offered by the Continuing Education Center. The certificates provided are updated to follow legislative updates. Students who successfully complete the certificate programs transition into their professional careers with the necessary skills and competencies required internationally during the graduation phase.
