Department's Goal

The healthcare industry is constantly growing and developing. In line with these developments, it aims to train professional Health Managers who are knowledgeable in managerial practices that are based on the sector's fundamental principles and values, successful in effective communication, and able to protect and improve the community's health status. Health Managers undertake the tasks of meeting the personnel needs of institutions, managing personnel efficiently, providing necessary equipment, planning and effectively carrying out work.

 

Health Managers:

• Organize and carry out healthcare operations,
• Provide necessary personnel and equipment for departments,
• Prepare budgets and determine patient care fees,
• Determine the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of personnel,
• Are responsible for taking necessary security measures in institutions.

Those who choose to work as Health Managers in the industry by choosing the Health Management program:

• Have strong communication skills and can speak the same language as healthcare professionals,
• Have managerial qualities (planning, organizing, controlling, leadership), productive,
• Be able to think strategically, have vision, and be reliable,
• Must be individuals with high conflict management and problem-solving skills.

The language of instruction for the Health Management undergraduate program is Turkish. "Career English Courses" aim to provide students with specialized English language skills in their field so that they can gain an international career while continuing their education in their mother tongue. The courses are focused on understanding the English texts written about the topics they learned in the field courses. Texts specific to each department are recommended by department instructors. The most frequently used English words and terminology of each field are taught based on the content of the reading text. If there are any language-related problems in understanding the content of the text, they are addressed. Therefore, those who will take the course are required to have a General English language level of at least B1 according to CEFR. It is aimed that students who attend the courses every year can easily read and understand English books and articles written in their fields.

Istanbul Rumeli University Health Management Department applies an education method that will enable its students to be preferred when they graduate during their 4-year education. During the education period of the Health Management department, it takes courses related to management, organization, accounting, economics, financial management, human rights management in healthcare institutions, entrepreneurship, administrative law, occupational health and safety, and quality management in healthcare. In the sixth semester, students convert their theoretical knowledge into practice by doing internships in institutions related to their field. Graduates of this program continue their careers in the private and public sectors.
