Istanbul Rumeli University Computer Engineering Department's score type is QUANTITATIVE, and the education language is Turkish. Our students graduate with a bachelor's degree and the title of Computer Engineer at the end of 4 years of education.

Scientific and technological developments are closely monitored, and modern engineering education is provided to the students of our department. Graduates of Computer Engineering can work in various positions such as Internet Programmer, Software Architect, System and Work Analyst, Application Programmer, Software Engineer, Computer System Engineer, and Computer Automation Developer. After their undergraduate education, they can pursue a master's degree or doctorate, work abroad thanks to internship opportunities abroad or continue their academic career at a university abroad.

Students who benefit from the Rumeli Education Method can benefit from additional certificate programs that facilitate minor and double major opportunities and provide gain and preference in professional life. They can follow the knowledge of their field in an international language and evaluate their job opportunities abroad with Career English courses.

The knowledge gained throughout human history, especially in computer science, doubles in less than a year in our age. The need for qualified computer engineers is also increasing in such an age. Our department trains qualified computer engineers with both academic and sectorally competent academicians. Elective courses and research projects are carried out within the scope of Machine Learning, Image and Video Processing, Robotics, Mobile Programming, Evolutionary Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data new and current topics in our department. In addition, necessary efforts are being made to add state-of-the-art topics such as Soft Set Applications and Quantum Programming to the course pool.

56 of 209 universities in Turkey are members of IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience). Istanbul Rumeli University, one of these 56 Universities, offers internship opportunities abroad through IAESTE to the Department of Computer Engineering students. It also provides the opportunity to exchange students with various universities in Europe, which are in partnership with ERASMUS.

The Department of Computer Engineering consists of three divisions: Department of Computer Science Division, Department of Computer Hardware Division, and Department of Computer Software Division.

 

 

The language of instruction in the Computer Engineering program is Turkish. However, in order for our students to gain a competitive edge in the field, we also provide an advanced level English language education. 

The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture provides the opportunity to graduate with a double degree. A student enrolled in an undergraduate program might complete some additional lectures in a different department at our university and obtain an additional certificate in a minor branch.
