Information about the English Proficiency Exam, which is specifically conducted for IAESTE every academic year, is provided by the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Istanbul Rumeli University, Turkey. The exam aims to assess students' language skills. The language proficiency level should be at B1+ or above according to the Common European Framework (European standards). The exam is prepared by the Department of Foreign Languages at Istanbul Rumeli University and consists of multiple-choice questions.
IAESTE primarily aims to facilitate international internship exchanges in technical fields. It promotes social and cultural interaction and closeness among students from different countries, i.e., future engineers, architects, technicians, and managers. It provides an opportunity to get acquainted with different countries, enhancing personal development. Students who have the chance to experience the education system of another country in their technical field and become a part of that system temporarily return to their home country with a different vision, more knowledge, and increased self-confidence. Being involved in IAESTE's institutional structure and serving in various roles, a student learns to collaborate, cooperate, and embrace the concept of volunteerism within a democratic civil society organization. In addition to individual benefits, the IAESTE program is also important for promoting our country. University students who come to our country are promising individuals who have the potential to achieve significant positions in their own countries in the future.
