İstanbul Rumeli University and the Physical Activity Association are collaborating to organize the "VII. National Physical Activity Symposium."
Today, the population percentage of individuals aged 65 and over in Turkey has risen to 8%. Determining strategies for active and healthy aging in societies and implementing programs geared towards this goal are crucial responsibilities for building a healthy and active future generation. In this context, the symposium aims to evaluate the latest scientific and technological developments specific to this age group with a multidisciplinary perspective in physiotherapy and other fields, focusing on the theme of "Aging and Physical Activity." Concepts that examine aging from different perspectives, such as active and healthy aging, will be discussed. The goal is to raise awareness about physical activity for healthy aging, emphasize what needs to be done in health and social policies, facilitate an exchange of ideas among experts, and create awareness. The symposium aims to share practical information with a multidisciplinary perspective, open up new topics related to this issue, and discuss all aspects of the subject.
