Istanbul Rumeli University Radio, Television and Cinema Department trains creative, critical, intellectual and expert individuals who have a good command of visual and auditory communication processes, who use art and technology together.
During their 4-year education in the department of Radio, Television and Cinema, students will learn, Media and Communication, Television Broadcasting and Programming, Scripwriting, Radio Broadcasting and Programming, Studio Applications, Image Design and Photography, Short Film Production, Documentary Film Production, Editing, Visual Effects. They take theoretical courses such as History of Cinema, Film Theories and Communication, Film Language, as well as applied courses related to the field such as design. Students of the department of Radio, Television and Cinema are able to comprehend different theories and models in the field of communication, theories and methods related to approaches within the scope of critical studies, knowing the constitutional framework in which the roles and responsibilities of the media are regulated, following public regulations on intellectual and artistic works, social sciences, communication they are individuals who can improve themselves by learning by following developments, new approaches, research and information in the fields of cinema and cinema. Our students at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, receive a bachelor's degree in two different fields, without extending the semester, in the departments they can choose in accordance with the relevant regulation, such as Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, International Relations, Political Science and Public Administration, Public Relations and Advertising. has the right. The language of instruction of the Radio, Television and Cinema Undergraduate Department is Turkish. General English courses (compulsory by YÖK) are given by distance education. Students whose general English level is B1 according to CEFR, They can request Career English courses conducted under the Continuing Education Center. Career English courses open the way for students to follow the knowledge of their field in international language and to search for job opportunities abroad. The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture ensures that students receive education at universities abroad within the quota every year within the scope of exchange programs managed by the International Relations Office of Istanbul Rumeli University and accepts students from partner universities within the scope of the protocol. Istanbul Rumeli University Radio, Television and Cinema Department students are supported by the Continuing Education Center with certificate programs given specifically to the departments. The certificates to be issued follow the legislative updates. Students who successfully complete their certificate programs transition to professional business life with the equipment needed in the international arena at the graduation stage. Our students can work in all public institutions and organizations operating in the field of radio and television, as well as in advertising, film production and social media companies that provide commercial (commercial) production, and in all departments related to press and broadcasting. In addition to these, they can be writers and researchers in artistic productions such as screenwriting and directing, or in the fields of film criticism and history. In addition, our graduates can pursue an academic career by taking postgraduate education.
Our student, who is enrolled in the undergraduate curriculum of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, can simultaneously and successfully complete some courses from a different department in our university, and can get a certificate by increasing their knowledge in a different field with minor programs.
