The curriculum aims to train architects who are competent in their profession, socially responsible, open to critical thinking, creative and planning the future by following the agenda, with its experienced academic staff, who are fed from many areas of expertise. The curriculum prepared for this purpose is supported by workshops, historical environment and field trips, conversations with successful architects, as well as theoretical and practical studies. During the 4-year education period, the Department of Architecture hosts many elective courses to support these areas, apart from the areas of expertise. In addition to all these, there are computer-aided design courses in the program in order to prepare a base for students who want to follow the developing and changing technology and to progress in this direction, and thus, students are gaining competence in the use of digital media. In addition to being a method based on creative thinking and drawing skills, the education of the students of Istanbul Rumeli University Architecture department makes it productive by creating an education that is fed with different disciplines. Programs Istanbul Rumeli University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Department of Architecture students can take two different courses without extending the semester in the departments they can choose in accordance with the relevant regulations, such as "Interior Architecture" and "Civil Engineering" with the double major program. has the right to obtain a bachelor's degree in the field. Our students who are enrolled in the undergraduate program of the Department of Architecture can obtain a certificate by completing some courses simultaneously and successfully from a different department in our university, and by increasing their knowledge in a different field with minor programs. With double major and minor opportunities, our students can improve themselves during their education and certify their qualifications with diplomas and certificates. Erasmus Facilities Exchange programs managed by Istanbul Rumeli University International Relations Office send their students to universities in Turkey and abroad within the quota every year and accept students from partner universities within the scope of the protocol. In addition, internship opportunities abroad are provided with IAESTE. Language Education The language of instruction of the undergraduate department of Architecture is Turkish. “Career English Lessons” aim to provide students with knowledge of English specific to their fields so that they can pursue an international career while continuing their education in the mother tongue. These are the courses in which students read and understand the texts written in English covering the subjects they learned in the field courses in their departments. Specially selected texts for each department were suggested by the department professors. Common English words and terminology of each field are taught based on the content of the reading text. If there are language-related problems in understanding the content of the text, it is addressed. For this reason, the General English language level of those who will take the course is required to be at least B1 according to the CEFR. It is aimed that the students who attend the classes every year can easily read and understand the books and articles written in English in their fields. A good architect is someone who knows both the arts and social sciences and the characteristics of business life. For this reason, the person must be a creative person who has the ability to see space relations (imagine the situations that objects will take in space), draw neat shapes, as well as a superior general academic ability. In addition, a person who is knowledgeable about business and trade and is compatible with being able to cooperate with other people can increase his success in business life. ● Architect; should be an individual who is creative, open to critical thinking and follows the agenda. Architects have advanced theoretical and applied knowledge in their fields and can offer solutions to problems. Can understand the relationship between architecture and other disciplines and can put them into practice by collaborating. They can use computer-based information technologies necessary for architectural project drawing and presentation. Architects who can design original architectural projects can continue to improve themselves by obtaining the necessary information for visual-written presentation. Graduates of the department of architecture can take part in the academic field by completing their postgraduate education. He can specialize in building physics, architectural design, architecture in computer environment, surveying, restoration or the use of any material in buildings, and can work as a manager in municipal ministries. In addition, it is seen that some of the members of the profession specialize in various building types. ● Architects can work in construction companies, engineering and architectural offices of enterprises.
