Aircraft Technology

Purpose Of The Program

The purpose of the program is to educate maintenance-repair technicians. Within this framework, our program aims to train qualified professional staff who will meet the need for qualified technical staff in the aviation sector in light of scientific, technological and innovative developments. Graduates can work in a wide range of sectors related to the field of aviation such as: production, manufacturing, maintenance and repair, projects, planning, machinery, drawing and construction.

The program is an associate degree program of two years. Graduates are awarded with the associate degree of “Aircraft Technology” and the title of “Aircraft Technical Expert”. Graduates can be employed in the aircraft industry, maintenance and repair organizations and related maintenance establishments of airline companies.

Students of Aircraft Technology can work in aviation production companies such as TAI, TEI, Kale Aviation, Alp Aviation, PFW and Fokker or large repair-maintenance companies such as THY, Turkish Technic, MNG Teknik and My Technic.

A student enrolled in the Aircraft Technology program can transfer to another program within the same institution after 1 semester through the horizontal transfer system by consideration of their Cumulative Grade Point Average or their Central Placement Score.

It is possible to pursue a double major program within the same higher education institution.
While studying Aircraft Technology, it is possible to study at another Vocational School program such as “Civil Aviation Cabin Services” or “Civil Air Transportation Management”.

Students have the opportunity to conduct their internships at many large, established companies such as Turkish Airlines or Pegasus Airlines. Additionally, there are internship possibilities at flight school maintenance hangars that recruit pilots. Each student in the Aircraft Technology program must fulfill an internship of thirty days after their first year in order to gain experience related to their sector and develop practical skills as a requirement of the program. Upon completion of their internship, students are recognized by the sector and are better equipped with the necessary skills needed to be successful in their careers.

Each year, Istanbul Rumeli University offers students the opportunity to participate in the exchange of students with universities abroad within the extent of exchange programs administrated by the International Relations Office of Rumeli University.

The language of instruction of the 2 year vocational Aircraft Technology program is Turkish. However, in order for our students to gain a competitive edge in the field, we also provide an advanced level English language education.
