The "Mental Health in Youth" training program, organized every semester in collaboration between the Silivri District Health Directorate and Istanbul Rumeli University, was conducted by Psychologist Saliha Nihal Kolsuz, who works at the Silivri District Health Directorate.
The training focused on methods for maintaining mental health in young people, with the central question "How can we take better care of ourselves?" discussed throughout the session. Important topics such as "What do we experience as human beings?", "What does it mean to be mentally healthy?", "Where do our behaviors lead us?", and "What can we do for a meaningful life?" were explored during the presentation.
Following the presentation, a brainstorming session was held on a particular question, and practical suggestions were shared to strengthen the mental health of young people. Coping strategies for challenges encountered in daily life were also discussed and evaluated with the participants.
At the end of the training, Psychologist Saliha Nihal Kolsuz emphasized that maintaining mental health is not only an individual responsibility but also a social one, and pointed out steps that can enhance the quality of life for young people. Officials from Istanbul Rumeli University and the Silivri District Health Directorate expressed their commitment to continuing such educational programs for youth on a regular basis and thanked the participants.
