Training on "Healthy Microbiota Formation in Children" Held

A training session on "Healthy Microbiota Formation in Children" was organized by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Istanbul Rumeli University under the theme of "Healthy Aging." The session featured Dyt. Dilem Argun as the speaker. Argun emphasized the vital importance of healthy microbiota formation in children for the development of their physical, mental, and immune systems.

The importance of a healthy microbiota was elaborated on under the headings of “Immune System Development,” “Digestion and Nutrient Absorption,” “Brain and Behavioral Development,” and “Prevention of Chronic Diseases.”

The training concluded with recommendations for maintaining a healthy microbiota. Argun highlighted that natural birth and breastfeeding, the consumption of fiber-rich foods and fermented products, careful use of antibiotics, exposure to nature, and avoiding stress all contribute positively to microbiota health.
