The 6th Best of Rumeli Award Ceremony was held by the Federation of Rumeli Balkan Associations

The “6th Best Of Rumeli Award Ceremony” was organized by the Federation of Rumeli Balkan Associations. Supported by Istanbul Rumeli University, the event took place at the Cemil Reşit Rey Concert Hall, with the participation of our university.

Hosted by Suzan Kardeş and Yusuf Emin, the ceremony continued with famous personalities from various sectors presenting awards to the winners. The event, held in the vibrant atmosphere of Rumeli, was crowned by Norm Ender’s performance of “Parla,” a piece composed as the 100th Anniversary March of our Republic, delivered with great enthusiasm.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara, who was invited to the stage to present the awards, presented the "Best Journalist" award to Nevşin Mengü. During the ceremony, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yiğit Şakar, was also invited to the stage to present awards. She presented the "Best Rumeli Icon" award to Cezmi Baskın, known for his role as Osman Ağa in Akasya Durağındaki Osman Ağa, which was widely admired. Additionally, the "Best Writer" award was presented to Pelin Batu, the "Best Female Artist" award to Yeşim Salkım, the "Best Male Actor" award to Berk Atan, the "Master Artist" award to Fuat Güner, and the "Rubafed Honorary Award" was given to İlker Başbuğ.

The ceremony concluded with enthusiastic applause after the awards were presented. This meaningful event, held with the support of Istanbul Rumeli University, once again showcased the richness of Rumeli and Balkan culture and created unforgettable memories for the award recipients.
