The 4th Engineering Education Symposium Successfully Held at Istanbul Rumeli University

The "4th Engineering Education Symposium" was successfully held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Haliç Application and Research Campus of Istanbul Rumeli University, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. The symposium was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Can, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

A total of 9 papers were presented at the symposium, which was organized in two sessions. The papers were accepted after going through a rigorous scientific process in accordance with the Higher Education Council (YÖK) criteria for academic appointments and promotions.

All of the papers presented were compiled in both Turkish and English and will be published as the symposium's Electronic Proceedings Book. The book will be made available to both national and international audiences by the Library and Documentation Department of Istanbul Rumeli University, with an ISBN number assigned by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Turkey.

The topics covered in the symposium included current issues in engineering education, accreditation, research and development, climate change, renewable energy use, and computer science. In addition, comprehensive information was shared on the application of artificial intelligence software and new technological developments in engineering.

One of the standout papers included the original French letter written by the famous scientist Prof. Dr. Albert Einstein to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, along with its translation. This special paper provided participants with both a historical and scientific perspective, becoming one of the most memorable moments of the symposium.

The symposium was well-received by participants as a productive event, sharing the latest developments in engineering education and scientific research.
