Istanbul Rumeli University's Haliç Application and Research Campus hosted the symposium titled "Student Perspective on Cinema," attended by 3rd and 4th-year students from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. This event provided an opportunity for young filmmakers to both learn and express themselves.
The symposium addressed topics covered in the Film Industry and Art Direction courses. During three different sessions titled "World Cinema Industry," "Art in Turkish Cinema," and "Director's Cinema in the Turkish Film Industry," students shared their perspectives on significant issues within the cinema world with the audience. Each session was moderated by faculty members from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema.
In the "World Cinema Industry" session, the focus was on the dynamics and trends of the global film industry. Students evaluated prominent productions on international platforms and innovations in the sector. The "Art in Turkish Cinema" session discussed the artistic aspects of Turkish cinema and developments in this field, emphasizing Turkish cinema's place in world cinema and its artistic contributions. The final session, titled "Director's Cinema in the Turkish Film Industry," examined the role of directors in the Turkish film industry and the concept of director's cinema. At the end of the symposium, participation certificates were presented to the students for their presentations.
