The Silivri District Governorate organized a commemoration ceremony for the 86th anniversary of the passing of the Great Leader, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on November 10th.
The ceremony was attended by District Governor Tolga Toğan, Silivri Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, Garrison Commander Ammunition Colonel Ferhat Esen, Silivri Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Cenk Gürcan, and our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara. The event began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, in honor of the significance of the day. It was followed by the laying of a wreath at Atatürk’s memorial. The wreath, presented by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara, Rector of Istanbul Rumeli University, was accompanied by university students Kadir Bayındır from the Department of Gerontology and Emir Karaduman from the Department of Civil Aviation Cabin Services.
After the wreath-laying ceremony, participants moved to the Önder Yılmaz Theater Hall, where speeches were delivered about the significance of the day. A student who won the "Letter to Atatürk" competition read their letter aloud. This was followed by a visual presentation about Atatürk’s life and achievements. The program continued with a poetry recital and a Zeybek dance performance titled "The Last Ball." Afterward, high school teachers performed some of Atatürk's favorite songs.
The ceremony concluded with the awarding of prizes to students who placed in the various competitions organized for November 10th, presented by Silivri Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, District Governor Tolga Toğan, and Garrison Commander Ammunition Colonel Ferhat Esen.
